Force For Evil Has Departed This World

I always thought that the news of Ronald Reagan's death, when it finally came, would fill me with a joy and elation thitherto unmatched in my life.

And I'm certainly happy that such a force for evil has departed this world. But I'm not dancing around my room in the total ecstasy I expected.

My muted response baffled me until I realized it was because the conglomerate of evil we have running America and the rest of the world now is even worse. The horrors of Reagan in 1984 almost seem tame compared to Bush in 2004. Its scarey...

As a grieving planet offers up its fond tributes to The Big Gipper, three memories of Ronald Reagan immediately spring to mind (children of the 80s might as well refresh their minds..):

1) During the 1980 Republican leadership hustings, in the middle of a heated public debate between the candidates, a harrassed Reagan finally snapped: "I paid for this microphone." He started off almost as the joke candidate, as I recall. No-one really thought he'd get the nomination.

2) His infamous oops-I-didn't-know-this-mike-was-on quip: "I have passed legislation that will outlaw Russia forever. We begin bombing in five minutes."

3) His stunning grasp of language. "You know, in Russian, they don't even have a word for Freedom."

In short, the man was a blithering idiot. However, unlike George Dubya Bush, he was a blithering idiot with charm and charisma. And that, I am afraid, is the best that I can say about him. God sees. God Hears. He punishes. End of story.

May be you think Ronald Reagan is a dickhead. But i dont think so and there are thousands of pppl out there who would honour him.
He is not a evil he is a man loved by his nation and a man who will be remembered by the whole world for his tireless effort to end the Cold War.
Its interesting to see the three things that came into your mind about Reagan. Unfortunately it isn't as it looks like. These are all jokes and the mic thing is indeed true - he was a very charming man with a great sense of humour.
Lot of ppl consider him as the greatest president of the 20th century (which is arguable i know..so get over with it..)
I dont' understand how you can describe a man who fought for freedom as an "evil".???

I dont' want you to comment on this.. all i want is to make the readers of this article aware that he wasn't such an evil. I remember him as a man who literally shattered the walls of communism and opened the gates for freedom. And for that i will never forget him.
